Police arrested one in connection with the drug trafficking case
A 20-year-old individual has been arrested for drug trafficking in the congested capital of Maldives, Malé City.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) on Monday revealed that the Maldivian man was arrested for his attempts to traffic narcotics across a wide network.
He was arrested earlier this week, following an intel report received by the police Drug Intelligence department.
The operation was conducted jointly by the Intelligence Unit and the Drug Enforcement Department, inside a road in Henveiru-district of Malé.
He was searched after being brought into police custody, upon which officers found an adequate number of drugs on him to deem the suspect a drug trafficker.
The Drug Enforcement Department is currently running investigations into the case.
