President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has called on the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Calling on the Bahraini Crown Prince on Wednesday, President Solih engaged in extensive discussions on a wide array of topics including enhancing bilateral relations and development cooperation between the two countries.
The Maldivian President and Bahraini Crown Prince also touched down on youth and sports, international cooperation, trade and investment and the environment, particularly on restoring reef systems.
President Solih and the Crown Prince reaffirmed commitment to strengthening concerted efforts, after shedding light on the agreements exchanged during the visit.
The meeting also saw the Maldivian president expressing gratitude to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the “generous” support provided to the Maldives throughout the years.
The pair reaffirmed their shared commitment to work toward strengthening the relationship between the two countries, before concluding the meeting.
The president’s ongoing visit to Bahrain marks the first time a Maldivian Head of State is making a State Visit to Bahrain.
