Omar Abdul Razzak, the new Ambassador of Maldives to Belgium, has presented his credentials to the King of Belgium
Razzak presented his Letters of Credence to King Philippe of Belgium as the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium, during a ceremony that took place at the Palais-Royal in Brussels.
King Philippe welcomed Ambassador Razzak during the private audience that followed the credentials ceremony.
The king congratulated Razzak on assuming his duties as the Maldivian Ambassador to Belgium.
The ambassador expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome, and conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Kingdom of Belgium, on behalf of the Maldivian President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his people.
The meeting also saw the ambassador offering his assurances that he remains committed to work closely with the Kingdom of Belgium to further solidify the bilateral relations and pave the path for closer collaboration between the two countries on areas of common interest including promoting tourism, trade and people-to-people contact.
The ceremony was joined by Counsellor at the Embassy of Maldives in Brussels Mariyam Seena and First Secretary Fathima Reena.
Razzak was appointed Maldives Ambassador to Belgium on 30 May 2022.
He as the High Commissioner of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka prior to his appointment.
