President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, during his visit to Dhidhdhoo, met with the members of the Dhidhdhoo Council and the Women's Development Committee, where they exchanged views on the development of the island and the concerns of the people.

The meeting was held at the Atoll Administrative Residence of Haa Alif atoll. The meeting was attended by the councilors who noted that many development projects have already been completed in Dhidhdhoo and many projects are still underway. They noted that some other areas the people need development include improving the quality of services at the Atoll Hospital, space constraints of the Atoll Education Center and find a sustainable solution to the waste problem.

During the meeting, Dhidhdhoo AD Committee highlighted the difficulties in running the committee, health services and exercise activities for women to stay healthy. In addition, the councilors noted that Dhidhdhoo council office is an old building with limited space and a project to increase the space of the council office should be implemented from the council budget.

In addition, the council members discussed the jurisdiction of the Dhidhdhoo council, the lack of vehicle fees and financial difficulties. The councilors also noted that the amount of financial assistance given to councils has been increased since the current government came to power. The President said that he is working to make the vehicle fee available to the council.

In addition, the president noted that work is underway to solve the waste problem in the northern-most two atolls by establishing a waste disposal center in Kunburudhoo. He said once the project is completed and waste management facilities will be established, and hence the problem will be solved.

The President said he would work with the relevant institutions to find solutions to the issues raised by the council.

After the meeting, the President also visited the Haa Alif Atoll Hospital and Haa Alif Atoll Education Center in Dhidhdhoo and met with the staff of these facilities.

Dhidhdhoo is the administrative island of Haa Alif Atoll. Many projects have already been implemented for the development of the island community. These include the port of Dhidhdhoo, the construction of a new hospital, a junior college and an Islamic center.
