The First Couple has participated in the commemorative flag hoisting ceremony held to mark Maldives’ National Day.
The flag hoisting ceremony was held at the ‘Ganduvaru Maidhaan’ in Utheem Island of Haa Alif atoll, at 6am on Tuesday.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed were greeted by Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi and Minister of Home Affairs Sheikh Imran Abdulla, upon arrival.
The ceremony saw the recitation of a special prayer.
Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from the government also participated in the ceremony.
Maldives celebrates its National Day on the first of Rabī'al-Awwal each year.
