Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a search for an individual wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation.

In an announcement on Wednesday, the police institution identified the individual as Ali Amir, 48, a native of Maradhoo district in southernmost Addu City.

The man is wanted in connection with a case of deception and fraud for which investigations are currently underway at the Villimalé Police Station.

MPS revealed that they were unable to locate the man to even issue his summons chit, as his address remains unknown.

The man is to present himself to the Villimalé Police Station or the police station closest to him, at 12pm, September 15.

He is wanted for questioning in connection with the ongoing probe.

The public has been urged to reach out to the Villimalé Police Station through 9790083 if any information on the wanted individual is attained.

The police institution has also expressed gratitude for the immense public support and assistance in such matters in the past .
