The People’s Majlis has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Shaheeb as High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to India.
The vote to approve Shaheeb’s appointment took place at the People’s Majlis chambers during Thursday’s sitting.
As such, 46 parliamentarians took part in the vote, voted in favor.
Shaheeb had earlier served as Maldives’ High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore as well.
Further, he had also filled the position of Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
