The Maldivian Government has spent MVR 3.9 billion on Public Service Investment Programs (PSIP), thus far in 2022.
According to the statistics publicized by the Ministry of Finance on 09 August 2022, the Maldivian government has spent MVR 3.9 billion on PSIP projects, by 04 August 2022.
Statistics show that the most was spent on water and sewerage development projects. As such a total of MVR 751.8 million was spent in the sector this year.
These include MVR 622.3 million on installation of water and sewerage systems in islands, MVR 27.7 million spent on sewerage system installation and MVR 101.8 million spent on water systems.
Ministry's statistics goes on to reveal that MVR 326.6 million was spent on housing and infrastructure projects, MVR 208.1 million on land reclamation, MVR 449.6 million on road construction and MVR 528.4 million on harbor development projects.
Additionally, the government has spent MVR 386.1 million on bridge development projects and MVR 217.8 million on airport development projects.
The government has so far spent; MVR 25 million on national security and public order, MVR 103.8 million on development of health services, MVR 214.3 million on education sector and MVR 468.7 million on environmental protection projects.
By August 04, 2022, the Maldivian Government's expenditure reached MVR 23 billion according to the Finance Ministry. As such, statistics show that the state spent MVR 15.9 billion as recurrent expenditure and MVR 5.6 billion as capital expenditure.
The government has also spent MVR 2.1 billion for loan repayment and MVR 484.7 million was transferred to the Sovereign Development Fund.
Ministry of Finance revealed that the state has received MVR 16.9 billion as revenue, so far this year.
