The temporary United Kingdom (UK) visa application center opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been closed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that the UK visa application center was opened temporarily at the beginning of August.
The center was closed on Wednesday, after providing visa facilitation services for three consecutive days.
The center was opened with a purpose to assist Maldivians, especially students travelling to the UK for further studies, to “conveniently” apply for their visas in Malé City.
During the past three days, 87 applications were processed from the center.
The foreign ministry revealed that this is the highest number recorded and processed at the visa application center, to date.
The ministry hosts these temporary UK visa application centers, on an annual basis.
The government of UK established the visa application center in Maldives upon the request from the government of Maldives.
