The Maldivian Government has spent MVR 3 billion on Public Service Investment Programs (PSIP), thus far in 2022.

According to the statistics publicized by the Ministry of Finance on June 23, the Maldivian government has spent MVR 3 billion on PSIP, by July 22, 2022.

Statistics show that the most was spent on water and sewerage development projects. As such a total of MVR 527.7 million was spent thus, this year.

These include MVR 404.9 million on installation of water and sewerage systems in islands, MVR 27.1 million spent on sewerage system installation and MVR 95.7 million spent on water systems.

Ministry's statistics goes onto reveal that MVR 307.5 million was spent on housing and infrastructure projects, MVR 160.7 million on land reclamation, MVR 295.7 million on road construction and MVR 482.8 million on harbor development projects.

Additionally, the government has spent MVR 300.1 million on bridge development projects and MVR 37.2 million on airport development projects.

The government has so far spent; MVR 22.8 million on national security and public order, MVR 98.2 million on development of health services, MVR 192.3 million on education sector and MVR 362.2 million on environmental protection projects.

By July 22, 2022, the Maldivian Government's expenditure reached MVR 20.5 billion according to the Finance Ministry. As such, statistics show that the state spent MVR 13.9 billion as recurrent expenditure and MVR 4.5 billion as capital expenditure.

The government has also spent MVR 2 billion for loan repayment and MVR 423.4 million was transferred to the Sovereign Development Fund.

Ministry of Finance revealed that the state has received MVR 13.8 billion as revenue, so far this year.
