Senior officials at the foreign ministry, Resident High Commissioners as well as Ambassadors and representatives of the missions attended the first session
 
The lecture series by FOSIM, features distinguished local figures

The Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM) has launched a lecture series on “UN peacekeeping through Maldivian eyes”.

The first session of the lecture series was hosted by Dr. Rasheeda Mohamed Didi, who shared her experiences in her service to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Liberia, as a Civil Affairs Officer/County Support Team Facilitator, working with local government and UN officials in Liberia.

Dr. Rasheeda also presented a photo exhibition after the lecture, which featured prominent photos and stories of Dr. Rasheeda during her tenure spent in Liberia working at the UN Peacekeeping Mission.

A member of the Higher Education Council, Dr. Rasheeda presently works as an independent academic and resource individual.

She worked as a part-time lecturer at the Maldives National University for eight long years, where she taught Political Science and International Relations subjects.

Dr. Rasheeda also previously worked as a researcher in charge of the Research Center, at the Commonwealth Joint Office for Permanent Missions to the UN, in New York, United States.

She has a Master of Arts degree and a Ph.D. in Political Science, with a concentration on International Relations, from Temple University, Philadelphia, U.S.

The lecture series by FOSIM, features distinguished local figures.

They aim to create dialogue on issues of regional and global importance among the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Senior officials at the foreign ministry, Resident High Commissioners as well as Ambassadors and representatives of the missions attended the first session.
