Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has offered his condolences following the deadly fire at Bangladesh container depot.

The Maldivian foreign minister sent a message of condolences to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, A.K Abdul Momen on Sunday, following the deadly fire that blazed through the BM Container Depot in Sitakunda Upazila, Chittagong.

In his message, FM Shahid expressed deep shock and grief to learn about the deadly fire that broke out at the BM Container Depot in Sitakunda Upazila, Chittagong, killing at least 40 people and injuring more.

The Maldivian minister extended deepest sympathies and condolences to the government and the people of Bangladesh from the government and people of the Maldives.

He particularly offered sympathies to those directly affected by this tragedy.

The minister expressed hope that the efforts of the response teams will continue swiftly and successfully and wished for a speedy recovery for those impacted by the disaster.
