Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid is in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on an official visit.

The Maldivian foreign Minister touched down in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

The visit comes upon the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The visit will see the Maldivian minister calling on his counterpart, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and deliver a letter from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to the King of Saudi Arabia, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The foreign ministers of Maldives and Saudi Arabia will hold bilateral talks and explore avenues to further solidify the long-standing bilateral ties between the two countries.

Further, they will also review the ongoing development cooperation projects and multilateral issues of mutual interest and priorities between Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Zahir also visited Saudi Arabia in the Maldivian delegation.
