The coastal protection project initiated in Kendhoo island of Baa Atoll, is proceeding smoothly.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that the second shipment of rock boulders required for the project was delivered to the project site on Thursday.

MTCC is currently conducting the work to dredge the swimming area, as part of the project.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct dredging operations of the swimming track as well as construct a breakwater measuring 803 meters.

A revetment measuring 80 meters is also included under the scope of the project.

The project is valued at MVR 39.9 million.
