Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has delivered the second shipment of rock boulders required for the shore protection works of Ga. Dhaandhoo Island.
According to MTCC, the shipment of rock boulders were delivered to the island on 01 June 2022.
MTCC states that they have completed the construction of sand bund wall of the island, under the project.
Land Reclamation and Shore Protection project of Ga. Dhaandhoo Island was handed over to MTCC by the the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 10th November 2020.
The work of the project includes; dredging and reclamation operations of 25 hectares; construction of a 1238metre rock boulder revetment; and a 240m groyne.
The value of the project is MVR 186.6 million.
