The harbor development project in Dhaandhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll is well underway.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed on Monday that the harbor development project in Dhaandhoo island was proceeding smoothly.
As such, currently ongoing at the project site are dredging works.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to dredge 52,099 cubic meters of the harbor and dredge 4,953 cubic meters of the channel.
Further, the scope of the work also include the construction of a groyne measuring 30 meters, a breakwater measuring up to 333 meters and a revetment stretching up to 170 meters.
A 529-meter quay wall is also included in the project, alongside a harbor pavement measuring 1,203 square meters.
The project was contracted to the company by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The project is valued at MVR 70.8 million.
