Discussions have been held on boosting cooperation between Maldives and India in the field of environment and in climate action.
The discussions were held during a meeting between Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India, Leena Nandan and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Maldives Ahmed Khaleel.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldivian state minister welcomed Secretary Nandan to the Maldives.
The significant initiatives undertaken in the field of environment and climate change on bilateral and multilateral fronts between the two countries, were also a topic of discussion.
Highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing environmental challenges, State Minister Khaleel reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further enhance efforts to battle climate change.
The meeting was joined by Additional Secretary Ahmed Shiaan and Joint Secretary Abdul Waris Saeed.
