Vice President Faisal Naseem has urged new graduates to utilize their knowledge to resolve the main issues within the society.
He made this statement at the Convocation Ceremony 2022 of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) on Thursday.
Taking the podium at the event, the vice president urged the new graduates to apply their knowledge and expertise to address and resolve the major issues within the communities.
Highlighting that human resource development is a key priority of the incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, VP Naseem stated that higher education was not as accessible in the past as today.
As such, he stated that the incumbent administration’s policies strive to ensure every student receives equal and impartial opportunities to pursue higher education.
Further touching down on the promotion of respect and kindness towards others and spreading positivity, the vice president stressed that the best use of knowledge would be to resolve social issues.
He also detailed some of the main issues facing the society at present.
The ceremony also saw VP Naseem presenting certificates to graduates of Kulliyyah of Education’s Bachelor of Teaching Quran and Master of Teaching and Learning programmes and a graduate who completed the PhD in Islamic Judicial Sciences and Legislative Policy from the Kulliyyah of Sharia and Law.
Awards were also presented to top achievers from the other programmes.
