Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel has expressed confidence that the strong bonds of solidarity between Maldives and Egypt, will continue to solidify.

The newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Maldives, Maged Mosleh Nafei paid a courtesy call on the state minister, on Wednesday.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Welcoming the new Non-Resident Ambassador of Egypt, State Minister Khaleel congratulated him on presenting credentials as the Non-Resident Ambassador from Egypt, to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

During the call, the state minister expressed confidence that both countries will continue to further reinforce the strong bonds of solidarity and mutual cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Assuring the state minister of his commitment to work hand-in-hand with the government of Maldives, the ambassador shed light on his plans to deepen cooperation between Maldives and Egypt during his ambassadorial tenure.

The meeting was joined by Additional Secretary Mohamed Faisal and Senior Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aminath Abdulla.
