An Additional Secretary has been appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Aminath Shifana to the post on Thursday.
The appointment was made at the level of Deputy Minister.
The new appointee has a Master of Management from the International Islamic University, Malaysia.
Shifana earlier served as the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prior to her appointment as Additional Secretary.
The new Additional Secretary at the Foreign Ministry also served as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.
She also held senior positions in various other government offices.
