The government has declared additional days as public holidays for 2022.
The President’s Office revealed that four additional days have been declared public holidays for the ongoing year. The decision was reached by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
As such, the days a May 5 which comes on the occasion of Fitr Eid and July 13 and July 14 on the occasion of Al’ha Eid 1443.
July 28 has also been declared a public holiday, as it coincides with the Independence Day of Maldives, celebrated annually on July 26.
With this development, the public will now receive eight public holidays on the occasion of Al’ha Eid.
The number of public holidays that coincide with the Independence Day has also increase to five with the most recent announcement.
