Hiya Flat rent collection is going smoothly, stated Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Suhail Ahmed.
HDC commenced collection of Hiya Flat rent on April 02.
HDC has allocated a special counter at the main office of HDC for rent collection. Payments can be made via, cash, cheque and card. They also introduced an online portal for tenants who would like to make their payments online.
As such, the payments can be made to the HDC collection counter or through their payment portal, “myhulhumale”.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Male' City Council Dr. Mohamed Muizzu tweeted, proposing to delay the rent collection of Hiya Flats. He proposed to commence the rent collection after the holy month of Ramadan. Muizzu stated that expenses of Ramadan are always high and that collecting rent in Ramadan would put a heavy burden on thousands of families living in Hiya Flats.
However, when Raajjemv questioned the MD of HDC, he stated that the rent collection is going smoothly. MD Suhail Ahmed also stated that they have not received any complains so far.
Suhail highlighted that the monthly rent needs to be paid before the 10th of every month.
The monthly rent of Hiya Flats is MVR 7,500. With the monthly maintenance fee of MVR 1,000, tenants have to pay a total of MVR 8,500.
