President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday, officially inaugurated the harbours of Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo of Addu City.
The inauguration ceremonies of both harbours were held separately on each island.
The Maradhoo Harbor project was carried out by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The project oversaw harbor dredging, construction of a sand fill breakwater, 340-metre revetment and 276-metre quay wall. It also included the construction of pavements and light installation along the harbor area.
Maradhoo-Feydhoo Harbor project was carried out by Heavy Force Private Limited.
The project scope included the maintenance dredging of the harbor and harbor channel, construction of a 243-metre breakwater and a 260-metre quay wall. It also includes the construction of pavements and installation of street lamps along the harbor area.
