Mohamed Jinah, the new non-resident Ambassador of Maldives to Vietnam has presented his credentials.
Ambassador Jinah presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on Wednesday.
The new non-resident ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Vietnamese President following the brief ceremony to present his credentials.
As such, he extended gratitude for the honor to serve as the non-resident Ambassador of Maldives to Vietnam and conveyed greetings from the president and people of Maldives to the people and president of Vietnam.
Going on to express commitment to work in close cooperation with the government of Vietnam with a renewed focus on solidifying the bilateral relations between both countries, the new ambassador expressed commitment to focus on the areas of promoting tourism, trade and other areas of mutual interest.
In turn, the Vietnamese President expressed hope to work in close cooperation with the government of Maldives to further enhance the relationship between both countries, and to increase people-to-people contact between Maldives and Vietnam.
The new non-resident ambassador will also pay a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Bui Thanh Son and senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
During these meetings, extensive discussions will be held on exploring opportunities and enhancing cooperation between Maldives and Vietnam.
