Ibrahim Shaheeb, the new non-resident High Commissioner of Maldives to New Zealand has presented his credentials.
High Commissioner Shaheeb presented his Letter of Credence to the Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of New Zealand, the Right Honorable Dame Cindy Kiro, GNZM, QSO at a ceremony held virtually on Wednesday morning.
The Governor General of New Zealand congratulated the new High Commissioner of Maldives during the virtual courtesy call that followed right after the credential ceremony.
The Governor General of New Zealand expressed confidence that the government of New Zealand remains committed to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries further.
Expressing thanks for being presented the honor to present his credentials and serve as the non-resident High Commissioner, Shaheeb expressed commitment to work closely with the government of New Zealand in efforts to further enhance the existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Maldives and New Zealand.
He also extended the greetings of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Maldives to the people of New Zealand as well as the Governor General.
The virtual ceremony was joined by the new High Commissioner’s spouse Mariyam Ilham Niyaz and Deputy High Commissioner of Maldives to Singapore, Eman Hussain.
