President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has offered his condolences to the family of the late Ibrahim Rauf.
Ibrahim Rauf passed away early Thursday while receiving treatment at ADK Hospital.
President Solih extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family of Rauf, who received a National Award for Public Service on 26 December 2021, at the official reception held to celebrate National Unity Day.
The president also visited the Aasahara Cemetery to pay his respects and condolences to the mourning family.
Rauf was 59 years of age at the time of his passing and served the state for more than 38 years. He had been providing services to the government since 12 September 1982 and began his service at the Kaafu Atoll Office on 13 August 1984, as the secretary and assistant to the Atoll Chief.
He later served as the Vice President of the Malé Atoll Council for two consecutive terms and another term as the president of the council.
