12 more Covid-19 cases have been confirmed from Ihavandhoo island in Haa Alif atoll.
According to the island’s health center, the positive cases included seven direct contacts, three in quarantine, one confirmed through random sampling as well as one from an individual who attended the Flu Clinic.
So far, 375 samples have been collected from Ihavandhoo island, of which the results for 29 are still pending.
The island’s total case count sits at 76 with five recoveries reported so far. Active cases across the island are at 71.
One patient is currently receiving in-hospital treatment, said the health center.
Covid-19 was discovered in Ihavandhoo island on 23 December 2021, following which monitoring measures were enforced on 31 December 2021.
