President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has concluded his five-island tour of Noonu atoll.
The president, accompanied by a delegation of Cabinet Ministers and high-level government officials, departed on the two-day Noonu atoll tour on Tuesday morning and returned on Wednesday evening.
The delegation visited five islands of the atoll; Maafaru, Landhoo, Manadhoo, Magoodhoo, and Holhudhoo during the two-day tour.
The agenda of the tour included meetings with the Noonu Atoll Council, local councils, Women’s Development Committees as well as residents and community leaders of the respective islands, where the president made inquiries about the development needs and concerns facing the islands.
The president also visited multiple public offices and held talks with the management and staff.
President Solih also visited ongoing infrastructure development project sites and inaugurated completed projects, including the new mosque and harbor developed on Landhoo Island.
The trip also saw the inauguration of the new powerhouse on Magoodhoo Island, and the newly developed football ground in Holhudhoo.
