The Joint Interagency Operations Center (JIOC) has officially been inaugurated.
During a ceremony held at the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Headquarters on Tuesday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially inaugurated the center, established to serve as the primary operational hub linking all national institutions to coordinate response efforts linked to terrorist attacks.
Further, the center is also tasked with coordinating counterterrorism measures, developing plans as well as executing operations in accordance with the National Terrorism Response Plan.
With the inauguration of the Joint Interagency Operations Center, the spotlight has been shed on the Solih administration’s commitment to implement its zero-tolerance policy to counter the increasing threats of radicalism, violent extremism and terrorism across the island nation.
