The government is seeking interested parties to carry out a project of installing CCTV cameras inside mosques spanning Malé City.

According to an announcement by the Malé City Council, this comes under an initiative by the council to renovate and fix up the mosques.

Bids will be open for registration on November 17, at 9am,

Only those who submit applications for the registration will be allowed to participate in the bid opening meeting.

The city council went on to reveal that the official prices for bidding will be held at 9am on November 23.

This comes at a time there have been increasing concerns of slander and acts of disrespect within mosques in the capital. Some of these cases include the use of drugs inside mosques as well as cases of robbery.
