Construction of the new engine house in Rasdhoo island of Alif Alif atoll will conclude in December, says State Utilities Company, STELCO.
The Rasdhoo engine house project was mobilized in July, and STELCO stated that they aim to conclude the construction by December.
STELCO stated that they have prioritized to maintain services at the level of the progressing guesthouses and other facilities operating in Rasdhoo.
The current capacity is 754 kilowatts, says STELCO, and that the existing engine is insufficient for efficient provision of electricity and other services that Rasdhoo needs. However, with the current engine house being built has a five-megawatt capacity.
According to STELCO the new engine shed will have additional security features, elevated floors, be more spacious with better ventilation. Moreover, a safe operating environment is also assured, with less noise pollution.
