Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM) has signed an exclusive media partnership with RaajjeTV, for three years.
A signing ceremony was held on Sunday, with RaajjeTV’s Head of Programmes and Coordination, Amir Saleem signing the contract on behalf of the station. VAM President Mohamed Ranesh signed for the association.
According to the agreement, all local exclusive rights of events and activities planned by volleyball association will be provided to RaajjeTV.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, President Ranesh said that signing this agreement with RaajjeTV is a new step in takin VAM "to the next level". He noted that they chose RaajjeTV as their media partner as it is one of the most viewed channels in the Maldives.
RaajjeTV’s Head of Sports, Hussain Fariyaz said that RaajjeTV will work to bring a positive change to volleyball in the coming three years and stressed that it is one of the station's aims to broadcast the sport to atolls as volleyball is very popular among islanders. Therefore, Fariyaz assured that RaajjeTV will put in their best efforts to air every single volleyball match played within the Maldives, in the next three years.
During the ceremony held on Sunday, in addition to signing a contract with RaajjeTV, VAM had signed contracts with other partners as well. Thereby a contract was signed with Milo as main sponsor with representative of Nestlé to Maldives, Dishan Wijayawardena signing on behalf.
Speaking on why they chose Milo as the main sponsor, Ranesh said that Milo is always on the frontline when it comes to promoting sports in the Maldives and noted that this is not the first time VAM has signed an agreement with Milo. He then expressed that he is very content with this agreement as it encourages VAM’s aim to subsidize clubs.
Furthermore, the VAM President thanked Milo for their complete support in the ongoing development plans of VAM.
VAM then signed Nova Associates as their Marketing and Communications partner.
While speaking at Sunday's signing ceremony Nova Associates Managing Director, Niushad Shareef stated that volleyball is one of the most popular sports among Maldivians and emphasized that their marketing team will work their best to carry VAM to the next level. Therefore, while special activities are conducted in the country to spread enthusiasm about the sport, Niushad informed that a very special campaign will soon be launched.
Last but not least, Javaab signed a contract with VAM to be their digital partner. The contract was signed by the Managing Director, Mohamed Jailam on behalf of the company.
After signing the contract, Jailam stated that sports in the Maldives is very behind in the field of technology. Therefore, he affirmed that the company’s intention is to create a special software for VAM to manage sports and informed that the software will be put together after analyzing how Maldivians play sports and designing it specifically to fit the needs of Maldivians.
While VAM signed with many partners on Sunday, to develop volleyball in the Maldives, Mohamed Ranesh was elected as their President on April 1 this year. Ever since he was elected, he has been working his best to enhance the field of volleyball in atolls.
