Air India has resumed flights to Maldives.
The airline will be operating four flights daily to Maldives from July 28 onwards. Flights from Delhi will arrive in the Maldives every Saturday and Wednesday via Mumbai, while Bangalore - Male' flights will operate every Monday and Thursday via Trivandrum.
Maldives' borders were reopened for travelers after nearly four months last July, with travel from South Asia was once suspended this May due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in the region.
Seven flights carrying travelers from India landed in Maldives the day borders were reopened from tourists from the South Asian region on 15 July 2021.
Travelers from South Asia were first only allowed to stay in resorts, while guesthouse bookings are to be made available from July 30. They can only transit in hotels designated by the tourism ministry.
