312 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday.

The total number of individuals who have completed the vaccination sits at 260,991, with 321,350 people having received the first shot.

Majority of the vaccinations were administered in outlying atolls, with 93 in atolls receiving the first dose, and 203 receiving the second dose.

Vaccination Centers were temporarily closed in Male’, in time for Eid-al-Adha and Independence Day Holidays.

The vaccines currently being administered in the Maldives, are Covishield, Sinopharm, and Pfizer. Due to insufficient supply, Covishield was briefly halted, resuming administration on the fourth of July. Administration of Covishield, currently operates on an appointment basis. People who got the first dose in May, are being encouraged by HPA to get an appointment for the second dose.

The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) has stated that 50 percent of the country's adult population are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

The current administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih launched the “Covid-19 Dhifaau” inoculation drive on February 1.
