STO Maldives has informed that a new shipment of influenza vaccine has arrived on Monday night. 

The company has announced that the influenza vaccine is currently available in STO pharmacies. While they ran out of the vaccine at noon yesterday, the new shipment arrived sometime during last night. STO also stated that they imported a large stock this time in order to address the issue of widespread influenza virus. 

Furthermore, STO announced that the company's pharmacies will sell influenza vaccine prescribed from any hospital, clinic or doctor. However, Aasandha health insurance will not cover the vaccine regardless of the prescriber. The vaccine is said to be priced at MVR 125. 

The company ordered a new shipment of the vaccine at a time when 69% of the patients with viral flu and fever who have been tested were diagnosed with the influenza virus. Health Protection Agency has informed that most of the patients were positive for influenza A's subtype H3N2.
