155 second doses of the Covid-19 vaccination, were administered on Friday.

As per the latest daily figures by Health Protection Agency (HPA), 148 first doses and 155 second doses were administered on Friday.

All 303 vaccinations were administered in residential islands, as the vaccine centers in Malé are closed.

With the new numbers, 260,774 individuals are now fully vaccinated nationwide, while the total number of people who got only the first shot sits at 321,255.

The vaccines that are currently being administered in the Maldives, are Covishield, Sinopharm, and Pfizer. Due to insufficient stock, Covishield was briefly halted, continuing administration on July 4. Administration of Covishield, currently operates on an appointment basis. People who got the first dose in May, are being encouraged by HPA to get an appointment for the second dose.

The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) has stated that 50 percent of the country's adult population are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

The current administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih launched the “Covid-19 Dhifaau” inoculation drive on February 1.
