Tourism Minister, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has declared that the Visit, Vaccinate, Vacation Program, also known as the ‘3V Programme’, will move forward as scheduled by the end of the third quarter or beginning of the fourth quarter of the year.

Minister Mausoom appeared on RaajjeTV’s, Viyafaari Miadhu program and stated that although the vaccination program came to a halt, it is now moving along very well. Therefore, Minister Mausoom believes that at this rate, all eligible Maldivian citizens will be vaccinated before the end of the year and that the vaccination program for tourists can then begin.

Minister Mausoom declared that once the citizens of the country have all completed their vaccination, the tourism industry will be permitted to utilize the remaining vaccines. Furthermore, the minister stated that some operators are working to provide vaccine stocks to resorts. In addition, the minister informed that businesses do not specifically require tourists to be vaccinated, but providing vaccines to tourists is an action that would encourage more people to choose Maldives as a holiday destination.

The ideology behind the campaign is to promote Maldives as one of the top countries that can provide vaccination and to exclude the Maldives from the list of countries tourists are banned to travel to due to covid.

Looks like they're in tortoise mode. By the time they launch, nobody will be in need.
