454 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered nationwide on Monday.
According to the latest vaccination update publicized by the Health Protection Agency (HPA), Monday’s vaccinations included 92 first doses and 362 second doses.
Of these, 12 persons residing in the Greater Malé Region received second shots alongside 350 atoll residents. All 92 first doses were administered to residents across outlying atolls.
With this development the total number of fully vaccinated individuals across Maldives has been pushed to 259,761 whereas the number of persons who have received first doses nationwide sits at 320,887 by the end of Monday. 61,126 persons are currently awaiting second doses of Covid-19 vaccination, seven of which have been approved for emergency use in the Maldives.
While 12 people in Malé were administered second doses on Monday, all vaccination centres across the region are closed for Eid holidays. However, emergency vaccinations will be ongoing during the period.
The incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih launched the “Covid-19 Dhifaau” inoculation drive on February 1.
HPA recently revealed that over 50 percent of the Maldives population has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 thus far.
