State ministers appointed to two ministries

Additional state ministers have been appointed to the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services as well as the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment.
Hussain Ismail has been appointed Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment while Mohamed Shihab was appointed State Minister for Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the appointments on Thursday.
Hussain Ismail previously served Deputy Minister of Human Resources, Youth and Sports from the year 2008-2012 and had previously filled senior positions at the Tourism Ministry. Ismail, who holds a Diploma in Marketing and Tourism Development Planning from Belgium, is currently the Chairman of Heat Health and Fitness as well as the President of Laamu Fonadhoo constituency.
New State Minister for Gender, Family and Social Services, Mohamed Shihab holds a diploma in Educational Planning and Administration from the Institute of Educational Planning and Administration in New Delhi, India. He is currently a board member at the Family Protection Authority as a Child’s Right Ambassador at the Human’s Rights Commission of the Maldives. In addition to previously being the Chief Executive Officer of Damas Private Limited, Shihab also held a post in the Ministry of Education as the Deputy Director and worked as an Assistant Principal at Majeedhiyya School.
