The government has opened the opportunity to apply for a vacancy at the Elections Commission.

President’s Office on Wednesday announced that they opened the opportunity for applications to the post, following a vacancy at the commission. This comes after the resignation of Ahmed Shareef, former Chairman at the Elections Commission.

Applications will be accepted on July 6 and July 7, between 10:30am and 12:30pm by the President’s Office.

Interested individuals may download the application forms from the President’s Office official website. They are also available at the front desk of the office.

Shareef tendered his resignation on June 15, however he did not disclose reasons for his resignation.

The ex-Elections Commissioner did reveal plans to continue serving the public, having expressed satisfaction in having worked sincerely and in dedication during the last three national elections.

Appointed the chief of the commission ahead of the Presidential Elections of 2018 by now incarcerated former president Abdulla Yameen, Shareef served as Managing Director of FENAKA Corporation prior to his appointment to the commission.
