Ahmed Nasheed has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Maldives National Skills Development Authority.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the appointment on Monday, as per the terms under Article 51(a) of the Maldives Higher Education Act.
The new appointee, who has over 28 years of experience over a variety of fields, served as the State Minister for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure prior to his appointment as CEO of Maldives National Skills Development Authority.
Other positions filled by Nasheed prior to his appointment include Deputy Undersecretary at the President's Office and Chairman of South Central Utilities Limited.
Nasheed attained his Masters in Engineering Science in Renewable Energy Engineering from Curtin University of Technology in Australia.
The CEO position at the authority is the same level as a Minister of State.
