Since the southwest monsoon began, grey rain clouds have been hovering over most parts, drenching the scatter of islands with showers and causing some cities as well as islands to flood. The rain showers over the Maldives capital, Malé City caused deep flooding in the streets, at a time the authorities have been conducting operations in the battle against the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).
