Journalists call for justice for writer Yameen Rasheed

Red balloons were unleashed at around 5:15 pm, as mourning participants remembered Yameen Rasheed, a prominent writer and pro-democracy activist

Yameen’s father, Hussain Rasheed took part in the demonstration held in memory of his son

Mother of journalist Ahmed Rilwan (L)- who was abducted in August 2014- also joined the demonstration. Yameen was a close friend of Rilwan, and had vehemently fought for progress in the investigation

Participants of the demonstration also signed a petition, pledging to attain justice for Yameen Rasheed
