Bank of Maldives has publicized changes to working hours from May 05 – 15.

In a statement publicized on Tuesday, the country’s national bank revealed that the changes were brought to ensure services are provided in accordance to the guidelines issued by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) due to spiking Covid-19 cases, as well as an announcement made by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

As such, the bank’s branches and service centers will be open from 9:30am to 12pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

BML went on to reveal that basic service such as foreign transfers and cheque processing will be made available for cheques deposited before 11am on all working days.

With this being said BML has urged customers to book appointments for appointment-based services and request for online token from the QueueBee app to visit us for services that are unavailable online or via self-service banking.

During a time the Covid-19 situation in Maldives is worsening, BML has encouraged customers to continue banking from home for everyday banking and use services available online.

Authorities have strengthened measures implemented to curb the spread of Covid-19 nationwide, for a 10-day period effective Wednesday. As such, a vehicle ban from 12am to 4am and other measures have been enforced nationwide. Police officers will be active across the capital region to implement the vehicle ban and ensure the public adhere to the measures.
