Maldivian table tennis player, Fathmath Dheema Ali has been ranked eighth place in the global Under-15 table tennis rankings by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof extended gratitude and warm congratulations to Dheema in a tweet posted on Friday afternoon.

In rankings announced on 13 April, the International Table Tennis Federation ranked Dheema eighth place in the global Under-15 ranking. Dheema's achievements represent the first time a Maldivian table tennis player has been featured in the global top ten rankings. Dheema attained eighth place from the global ranking after having scored 1028 points.

Additionally, Dheema was also ranked 41st in the Under 17 Girls Singles Ranking by the ITTF, beating competitors from other Asian countries like Japan, China and India.

As a brilliant and successful table tennis player, Dheema won the gold medal for Maldives in 2019 Indian Ocean Island Games.
