Bank of Maldives has donated educational tools to aid Special Education Need (SEN) students in 10 schools across the Maldives.
In commemoration of the International Day of Education, BML emphasized on the importance of inclusive and quality education to provide lifelong opportunities for all.
As such, BML donated the equipment to SEN classes across 10 schools which are essential for SEN classes to build a better learning environment through interactive play-and-learn.
The country’s national bank revealed that the donation will aid over 400 students to develop their individual abilities to “positively” impact the learning and development within a comprehensive environment.
The donation was made to Haa Alif Atoll Education Centre, Haa Dhaal Atoll Education Centre, Lhaviyani Atoll Education Centre, Kaafu Atoll School, Alif Alif Mathiveri School, Alif Alif Fenfushi School, Dhaal Atoll Education Centre, Laamu Atoll Education Centre, Mohamed Jamaluddin School and Seenu Atoll Education Centre.
The bank revealed that their CSR strategy’s priority remains to support people with disabilities and as part of the imitative, BML had donated educational tools to 10 islands in 2020 to support SEN students.
During last year, BML also donated 65 wheelchairs to help people with mobility impairments.
