Three individuals who sought treatment at ADK's High Dependency Unit tested positive

Following the detection of Covid-19 infections from ADK Hospital, the hospital’s High Dependency Unit (HDU) has been closed down.

The unit was closed down after three individuals admitted there for treatment, tested positive for Covid-19.

The Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) revealed that the three individuals were tested following their discharge after treatment.

HEOC Spokesperson, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq confirmed that three patients admitted at ADK’s HDU had tested positive after being discharged. In light of this, authorities have closed down the unit in order to carry out the disinfection procedure.

Dr. Nazla further revealed that contact tracing is currently underway, in order to control the outbreak within the hospital.

All of the employees at the hospital that came into contact with all patients admitted for treatment at the hospital have since been tested. While none of these samples have tested positive thus far, all staff members who came into contact with the positive cases detected within the hospital have been quarantined.

The spokesperson went on to note that despite the detection of Covid-19 cases from the hospital, there will be no hindrances to public service as safety measures against the pandemic were in place at the hospital.
