With this decision comes the announcement of the temporary suspension of some provisions that come under the Public Finance Regulation

The agreement will be signed with AstraZeneca Singapore Private Limited

Some of the provisions under the Public Finance Regulation of the Maldives are to be suspended following the government’s decision to sign an agreement with Singapore, to procure Covid-19 vaccination.

The Ministry of Finance revealed on Thursday, that the agreement will be signed with AstraZeneca Singapore Private Limited to procure the vaccination doses for Covid-19.

With this decision comes the announcement of the temporary suspension of some provisions that come under the Public Finance Regulation.

As the vaccination is highly demanded by several countries affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the dosages are available for procurement only and will be issued under specific policies set for procurement.

The ministry noted that the provisions under the Public Finance Regulation will only be suspended in accordance with the agreement and for its duration.

This comes at a time President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had announced that Covid-19 vaccines will be provided for all residents of the Maldives, for free.
