The government has publicized a second list of eligible candidates for the ‘H9’ category under the ‘Hiyaa’ public housing scheme.
The temporary list of eligible candidates for the category, dedicated for married individuals aged between 18 and 40 was publicized by the Committee Investigating Public Housing Schemes on Tuesday, after having completed assessments.
Upon publication, both temporary lists of eligible applicants have been put up in the government gazette.
The committee had revealed that the list includes those who remained unreachable for the physical evaluation process.
Further, a separate list has been published for candidates who did not qualify for the category, along with reasons why said individuals did not meet the requirements.
The committee further opened the opportunity to submit complaints regarding the temporary list through the official Hiyaa complaintsportal.
Complaints regarding the ‘H7’ category list of temporary applicants will be accepted between December 1 to December 13, before 3pm.
It has also been revealed that the Committee will accept further inquiries via telephone at 3010718.
The Committee Investigating Public Housing Schemes was formed to investigate whether the then-administration had issued flats deservedly, ‘Hiyaa’ was launched during the administration of now incarcerated, former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and was initially to provide 7,000 housing units located in Phase Two of Hulhumalé.
This was later lessened to 6,720 in order to set up commercial areas on the ground floor of each tower.
China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited was tasked with the construction of 16 25-story towers under the “Hiyaa” scheme. An agreement was signed between the state and the company in July 2016, to complete the project within two years. The construction work under the project commenced during December the following year.
