Over 67,000 tourists have visited the Maldives since borders were reopened in July.
While Maldives closed its borders following the Covid-19 pandemic, on March 27, borders were reopened on July 15.
As per the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 67,564 tourists arrived in the island nation from July 15 to November 25.
A total of 450,411 tourists have visited the country this year.
While there were 1,701 arrivals during the first 15 days after border reopening, August saw 7,628 arrivals. 9,538 tourists visited the island nation in September and 21,515 in October.
Arrivals in November have already exceeded the previous month; 27,182 tourist arrivals were recorded by November 25.
Russia is currently the top source market since border reopening, with 14, 855 arrivals.
This constitutes to 22 percent of the total arrivals since border reopening.

- United Kingdom: 5,035 arrivals (7.5 percent)
- United States: 5,027 arrivals (7.4 percent)
- United Arab Emirates: 4,319 arrivals (6.4 percent)
- Germany: 3,523 arrivals (5.2 percent)
- Ukraine: 2,534 arrivals (3.8 percent)
- Spain: 2,013 arrivals (three percent)
- France: 2,009 arrivals (three percent)
- Brazil: 1,927 arrivals (2.9 percent)
Experts predict arrivals to spike in the coming weeks, for peak season. By the end of November, a total of 18 airlines would have restarted operations to the Maldives.
